Transvoras recently managed a project to ship a Campion Bowrider recreational boat from Pattersons Lake in Victoria via Melbourne to Papua New Guinea.
The out-of-guage (OOG) project required the vessel to be heat-wrapped by the supplier at Pattersons Lake to protect it during shipment.
Clarkes arranged for a pre-inspection of the boat to ensure dimensions were correct, and then a special cradle was built for transportation. A crane was required at pickup to move the boat into position and it was taken by truck through the city to Port Melbourne.
For it’s journey to PNG the boat and cradle were transferred to a 40ft flat rack container for shipment. The cradle was out of gauge by 25cm on right and 20cm on left, and also over height by 40cm, above the walls.
Transvoras Logistics director Martin Moyano said producing a special cradle for this shipment was a new project for the company but its reliable network of transport partners made the whole process run very smoothly.
“Our expertise in arranging shipping for oversize freight means we’re always able to accommodate special projects such as this,” he said.
The boats owner was delighted to receive his new boat this week in Papua New Guinea and was very pleased with Clarke’s hassle-free freight forwarding and customs services.
